Emails sent using Outlook & outlook.com account (on HP Laptop, iMac & iPhone) to a family bigpond.net.au address are not getting through for last 3 days. Web-version does not appear to have this problem.

I'm not very tech so struggling with all the articles with similar messages & solutions.

Does anyone have a simple explanation/solution I could follow?

Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:

"******@bigpond.net.au"
Your message wasn't delivered. Despite repeated attempts to deliver your message, a connection to the remote server couldn't be made.

Contact the recipient by some other means (by phone, for example) and ask them to tell their email admin that it appears that your email system is unable to connecto their email system. Give them the error details shown below. It's likely that the recipient's email admin is the only one who can fix this problem.

    Thanks Glenn

After 2 days of "talking" to Telstra, they haven't found the issue and want me to pay to find what the problem is...which I am not willing to do since the cause of the problem hasn't been identified and they keep just telling me to add him (my husband's email address) to my safe list (that doesn't help!)

I have a bigpond email address and am not receiving emails from my husband's outlook.com address. No problems with anyone else sending and receiving, and he is receiving all emails I send him.

So I hope you are able to lead us all to a fixable solution.

    regards

    Alison

I have the same problem and it started at the same time last week as others have noted. I can receive from bigpond but my outlook emails are not received. They take about 24 hours to be rejected which is strange (after which I get the same notifications others are receiving). I have no problems with other domains. I've been on the phone to Telstra/Bigpond for what seems to be many hours and Telstra is adamant it is not their problem. I raised the senderscore issue with them and they claim it is caused by an Exchange server characteristic. I've raised this with Microsoft and currently I have an open 'Help' ticket on it. Everything points to an Exchange server problem but the technicalities are beyond me. Hopefully they will talk to Bigpond and sort it out between them.

Did you get the feeling the Telstra/Bigpond helpline techs did not even want to know that other people were having the same issue nor keep track of the hisotry of the "open case"? No outlook emails coming to bigpond webmail either, so not an issue with having bigpond emails in windows outlook

It took several calls to get somebody who took the time to call somebody else internally to ask about why the emails were being rejected. The first couple did the normal check list and then I was cut off 3 times etc etc. I was persistent with the last Bigpond tech I spoke to and I thought he understood the problem of the low senderscore number but, and I tend to agree, that the low senderscore is caused by Exchange not being at the right score - how that happens I don't know. I'm concerned that this is currently being treated as pass the parcel with both Bigpond and Microsoft saying the other is at fault. That might be true, but both might also be at fault but unless they talk to each other this might take a long time to fix. How hard would that be? In the mean time I have a lot of Bigpond addresses I cannot communicate with.
