Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Microsoft can be very good on some aspects of assistance. When I first raised the issue back on 17 November I had a long phone call from the US initiated through the Help system wherein my system was checked but the fault not found or fixed. A second long phone call resulted in the same outcome - so they really did try to help. It was when it was elevated to technical support that the lengthy pauses in communication were present. The technical people don't do phone calls. The Microsoft support number in Australia takes you through a list of things and tells you all help is online, and then hangs up on you. It took me some time to find a number with a person on the end. This is not good enough to deal with rare complex issues such as this one has been. But the fact that it involved so many other users really does make one wonder about the benefit of these Community sites where the silence from MS was deafening. So high marks for the initial help, and it is great that it was finally fixed, but keeping the community in the loop needs a lot more attention.
