Just started getting Russian women and male body part emails in my inbox.  I used to have exclusive setting checked.  Where in the heck did that go???  I see that in 2013 lots of people had issues with unwanted spam in their inboxes.  They were told to set exclusive settting.  I really wish Microsoft would quit pushing me to go to gmail!

I can now confirm that Microsoft is supposedly aware of the issue (yet to publicly acknowledge on social media) based on the reply to my submission via the "Help" procedure I previously mentioned which reflects the cookie-cutter response that was given to the IA as well: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/oemail-ofolders/junk-email-going-to-inbox/da8e531e-d9c8-4d16-a45b-ef53e6bf8095

I provided my correspondent with the requested information along with my question about their public acknowledgement.

I have been getting slammed with multiple email from @vertical-aff.com for the last 2 days. Most junk email used to go straight into my Junk Mail folder but these go directly into my inbox. I have a Hotmail (live.com) email account. I've tried blocking, sending to junk mail but nothing works. Hotmail rules will not allow me to block just the domain "@vertical-aff.com". The sender has a unique email address as well as a red balloon icon before the domain name in every email. I just checked and there are A LOT of other users with this exact same problem posting in the last 2 days (January 19-20, 2020). Microsoft, PLEASE fix this issue so that these emails can be blocked permanently. We do not have time to sort through dozens of spam emails on an hourly and daily basis. Thank you.

There is definitely a spam filter problem that MICROSOFT is refusing to acknowledge.

I did nothing to my mailbox. As a matter of fact, I reached out and the first level support was either ignorant or lying that there is an issue. This problem is both on the APP and the website OWA version. I cleared all rules and all allowed entries. I removed the app altogether and reinstalled and the same problem. All the **** that normally hits my spam is going straight to my inbox. AND, the images open up in my inbox without my authorizing to see them. This is a major security issue.

I'm at a point that unless Microsoft acknowledges their problem, I'm just going to straight move everything to my gmail accounts. No problems with junk/spam/phishing in GMAIL. **** microsoft.

I just created a rule to have all my emails sent to a folder I created called Bad Emails. It will be easier to see if any emails I care about end up there and I can move them to my Inbox since I don't get a lot of emails anyway. I didn't want to simply move them to Junk mail because a lot of Junk is still going there and I can easily delete those in one click. I just want to see if this rule will work and hopefully Microsoft will become aware of this issue and send a fix. We shall see . . . .

Same issue for me.  Went through all the troubleshooting tips everyone else went through here and still get it into my inbox.

One thing I WAS able to do to help is that I actually have the full Outlook client as part of my Office suite.  I logged into that and set the exclusive filter in there.  It's not sorting them on the server side, but it is on the client side, so as long as I leave that up on a computer, it will take the spam and filter it back to junk which will then sync back to the web/phone versions and remove them from my inbox.

Still messes with notifications and if you turn that computer off or close the Outlook client it will start piling up in your inbox again, but it's allowing me to not have to go through them all in my Inbox.  Not a fix by any stretch of the imagination, but it is saving my sanity for the time being....
