Error code 80090016 Trusted Platform Module has malfunctioned.

When I try to add a new Office 365 email to my outlook I get the error below.   I think it's because of my "Work or school account" which I want to remove. I'm not sure how my email was signed up for this second account. I set up this computer for home use only, I won't be using any of the Microsoft Azure features. 

My question is, what will happen when I remove my “work account” and leave my Microsoft account?  Everything is backed up on Onedrive, I just don’t know what to expect because when I went to remove it, it warned me about losing data and settings.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi Guys,

    TPM Malfunctioned - Error 80090016 - Keyset does not exist

    This one resolved my issue.

    1. Go to your settings
    2. Click Accounts
    3. Click the Access work or school
    4. Remove the email you're trying to access for Office365,Remote Desktop or what. (Work or school email)
    5. Re-add the email you remove and try logging in again without restarting the PC.

    Simple as that, it worked on my laptop, if you have trust issues restart the desktop or laptop and try it again.

    I finally figured out how to resolve it. I had to create a PIN for my Accounts at Login.

    When you first set it up, it will ask you to login to your accounts and holds this info for future use. Its been working for me for about 2 weeks with no issues. I was waiting to reply because I have tried other options like removing my Microsoft/email account and it comes back a few days later. I'v create registry keys and its never worked. This is the first thing to work so if anyone has tried the others and still have this issue, please try creating a PIN instead of a password to connect your accounts.

    Hello again

    I logged in to BIOS system settings by pressing F10 when booting the computer

    Went to System menu / BIOS version

    In there HP BIOS can automatically be Updated through network - very simple and quick process

    When the procedure ended and the PC booted, I logged in to Windows and started Outlook without any further annoying messages or prompts to enter password

    Anyway,

    Let me post an Update:

    The problem was on a HP ProDesk 450 G5 PC.

    Today, I Updated the BIOS and performed two Restarts

    So far, the problem seems to be solved

    you have to disconnect the bios battery, disconnect the laptop battery press and hold the power button for 45 seconds and reset the tpm module from within bios by doing those steps make sure the laptop is noty plugged in, its worked 99 percent of the time, and you geniuses at Microsoft have yet to post this, your forums for fixing anything has NEVER HELPED ANYONE, your help forum is worse than web MD may as well just tell me my laptop has cancer!
