ToDo, Flagged Emails and opening in Outlook Desktop

When I open MS to Do app and open whether it is an email flagged or a task from my planner in teams when I try to open it, it opens in the web-based instead of the desktop. Am I missing a connector to my desktop or something?

Not being able to open emails in the Outlook desktop app is a major failing of the To Do app.
If you can't change To Do so it opens in the desktop app at least allow the full email text to be viewable within the To Do app.

How has this not been fixed yet, given the overwhelming evidence that it is a necessary feature for most ToDo app users? If the developers aren't skilled enough to do this simple task, hire new ones. Microsoft is certainly rich enough. Smart enough, though? Probably not. Pathetic people.

As a workaround you can use the Todo Functionality within Outlook. Then it opens the e-mails within the app and not in the web.

False. Clicking on the To-Do app in Outlook brings me to the web.
