ToDo, Flagged Emails and opening in Outlook Desktop

When I open MS to Do app and open whether it is an email flagged or a task from my planner in teams when I try to open it, it opens in the web-based instead of the desktop. Am I missing a connector to my desktop or something?

Hi ! I have tried various things incl. restart - my emails are still opened in the Outlook online version. Do I need to activate anything to get emails opened in Outlook desktop version?

Yeah but only if your IT department approves the use of a newer version of office which probably will take a year or more if ever.

don't be witty and generic, please. In which version of the Outlook and To-Do apps are you able to do that?

People have been quite mad about this.

    Cheers

Just updated to the latest and finally got this feature!!!

    Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2302 Build 16.0.16130.20332) 64-bit

On the left-panel of Outlook, you can open email, calendar and now open ToDo (and even pop it out if you want it stand alone).

Once you do this, this Outlook integrated ToDo, or Outlook PoP-out ToDo is slightly different than the stand-alone ToDo app. The background and some settings are missing. But the key thing is that the "Open in Outlook" link now points to your local Desktop Outlook and not the web link.

Wow. Thanks Microsoft, this finally gives what I've been looking for, for at least the last 2 years. Awesome.
