ToDo, Flagged Emails and opening in Outlook Desktop

When I open MS to Do app and open whether it is an email flagged or a task from my planner in teams when I try to open it, it opens in the web-based instead of the desktop. Am I missing a connector to my desktop or something?

I thought the same - but, I just tried it - and ToDo (on the side bar of Outlook 365 installed application) DID indeed open the related email in an outlook sub-window (like normal messages do when you break them out).

Now, that being said - the ToDo pane is a sad facsimile of the ToDo application. So it's not a substitute - to fully utilize ToDo, you need the app. But if you use the App, the emails don't open in Outlook.

They're getting close - but it's not there yet.

Are you on PC? I am a Mac user, and sadly, this is not a functionality I have in my version of the app.

Within Outlook 365 you can add apps to the left hand column.

    Add ToDo app

Then select Todo (from new shortcut in Outlook)

When a task is selected you can then open the saved email in Outlook

That's so incredibly untrue. Why did you even bother commenting?

Clicking on the ToDo app in the left-hand column of the Outlook 365 app brings me to the web version of ToDo, which is asinine.

Read the topic and the replies, first.

    We are talking about app-to-app.

I don’t think there is nor there will be a solution for this.

MS clearly thinks this is irrelevant.

If you are referring to Outlook 365 (the web-based version) then you are missing the point of this topic. If you are referring to the pc installed app Outlook, then I do not see any apps that can be added to the left-hand side.
