ToDo, Flagged Emails and opening in Outlook Desktop

When I open MS to Do app and open whether it is an email flagged or a task from my planner in teams when I try to open it, it opens in the web-based instead of the desktop. Am I missing a connector to my desktop or something?

    Wow, over 3 years later and still the same problem. Good to know the fix isn't coming anytime soon I guess. Add my voice to the list of people who think it's silly that this is an issue.

    I agree. I am currently looking for other todo apps because this is so annoying. They clearly all talk to each other.

    With all of the software development manpower at Microsoft's disposal, I am not mad, but more just amazed that it is still not possible to do this basic thing, that you would have thought is one of the most central functions to having a suite of integrated apps, and the whole thing that software companies like Microsoft pride themselves on (providing tools to simplify your life).

    'Email' can talk to 'to-do, yet 'to-do' cant talk back to 'email', except via a 3rd redundant browser app that you are forced to open (that, lets be honest no one uses), and opens a new tab for every separate click? Yuck.

    Any convenience I get from being able to flag emails into the to-do list, is cancelled out completely. Trying to compete with Apple or not? jeez.

    I second this.

    I have returned to investigate Outlook after many years with negligible improvement in MacMail and a main reason for the return was the better interface for following up emails in the old Outlook - but this seems that this capability with new Outlook is worse than with the old Outlook. Surely it can't be too hard to change the link transferred to ToDo from a web link to a local link -as can be done in MacMail working with any other application
