This has been driving me crazy so I was happy to see the updates in this thread. However, I'm not exactly sure it's the same issue. For me, links do not seem to open inline in an embedded web view, instead they always open in Edge.
I also have no preference in my app to change browser - I just updated to 4.2043.3 and in my gear settings under Preferences there's just "Accessibility", "Theme", "Privacy Settings" and "Language". Where is this new setting supposed to go?
I'm using Outlook through my corporate Intune solution so there are a ton of policies that apply just to make my life more difficult, so I guess it's possible that my version of Outlook hides this setting, but my company policy DOES allow installing Chrome
within the AndroidForWork profile so I don't really get why it would then not be allowed to use it from Outlook.
It's funny how Microsoft never seems to learn. We didn't want to be forced upon IE 20 years ago, and despite how much you want us to use Edge, we don't want to be forced into using
your browser of choice on an OS specifically designed for openness and customizability. Bypassing the standard Android intent mechanism to fool us into using Edge is just evil.
