MAC Outlook can't change display name imap in new version

When I switch to the new version of Outlook on my Imac, my name from my imap account will be changed to my e-mail address.

How can i resolve this?

    This solution does not work anymore, as in the latest version you cannot uncheck the option for syncing with Microsoft Cloud. It's really a shame...

    hi everyone, so the solution is really simple :-)

    • Delete all your accounts (with the problem above)
    • Create a new account
    • After you enter your e-mail address press on the "next" button
    • So now is the mistake that all do (me included): Klick on the right top "Not IMAP" even if your account is/need IMAP!

    On the next window you see a slide button "Sync with microsoft cloud" YOU NEED TO DISABLE THIS (this button is the reason because you can't change your name in your account) and then click on IMAP and you can continue enter the missing things.

    Can fully confirm that the solution above by Misheck Mups works perfectly.

    The important thing is to enter a non-existent email address such as ******@got-itsolved.co.uk or similar.

    That will allow you to get to the next screen where you can actually turn off "Sync with Microsoft Cloud" setting. This setting and your ability to switch it off won't appear if you enter your actual or a real email address in New Outlook.

    I have the same problem.

    I have tried deleting and re-adding my address, and I've tried syncing with my IOS app to no success.

    Please help Microsoft I would like people to be able to see my name when I email them. What a pain.
