The Outlook mobile app is extremely SLOW! Everything about it! Typing an email is SLOW. Scrolling through my inbox is SLOW. Using the calendar is SLOW. Going into the settings menu is SLOW. Searching is SLOW. Even typing a letter or hitting the backspace key is SLOW!
I'm using an iPhone XS running the latest iOS (13.3.1) and latest version of the Outlook app (4.30.0). I’ve tried everything...uninstalling and reinstalling the app, rebooting the phone, hard and soft reset. I have deleted old emails to clear out my inbox...no help. This is the only app I have problems with out of about 50 apps on my phone. The phone has plenty of CPU and memory available. On my desktop PC, the Outlook with Office 365 account works perfectly fine with no performance issues. Webmail also works fine.
I opened a support case through the mobile app and was told by Microsoft they're aware of the issue and are working on a fix. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS!!! COME ON MICROSOFT, GET IT TOGETHER!!!

Btw, I was able to resolve it with a workaround, which is turning off viewing any shared calendars. Unfortunately, when one does that you do not have the option to see shared calendars on the desktop app either.
It has something to do with the sync process of the calendars of others on the Outlook iOS app, which is inefficient.
On my iPhone it’s working fine, but on my iPad it’s slower than you discribe. Removing the app and reinstalling it helps for a day or two. I gave up…
SOLVED
My main issue was the lagginess of a search. I would start typing in a search and it would freeze on the first letter and I would continue to put in my search criteria but it would be anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds before the rest of the text showed up. I have four separate emails running through my Outlook app on my iPhone 11 and went into the settings of the biggest account and scrolled down to the bottom, under Sync issues? Try resetting your account and clicked on"Reset Account" This force quit the app and when I reopened the Outlook app, it said "Updating" for a good three or four minutes. After this completed, my problem was solved and it has been over a week now.

Hi,, I have the same issue on mij Windows laptop and android phone!
Same issue . Outlook on iPhone takes like 20 seconds to load. When I click a link from an email, it takes 10 seconds to get back into outlook email.
Is this being done on purpose to make me want a new iPhone? Cuz it’s making me consider an Android where I never would have before…
