Outlook app on iPhone is SOOOOO SLOOOOOWWWWWW!!!

The Outlook mobile app is extremely SLOW! Everything about it! Typing an email is SLOW. Scrolling through my inbox is SLOW. Using the calendar is SLOW. Going into the settings menu is SLOW. Searching is SLOW. Even typing a letter or hitting the backspace key is SLOW!

I'm using an iPhone XS running the latest iOS (13.3.1) and latest version of the Outlook app (4.30.0). I’ve tried everything...uninstalling and reinstalling the app, rebooting the phone, hard and soft reset.  I have deleted old emails to clear out my inbox...no help. This is the only app I have problems with out of about 50 apps on my phone. The phone has plenty of CPU and memory available. On my desktop PC, the Outlook with Office 365 account works perfectly fine with no performance issues. Webmail also works fine.

I opened a support case through the mobile app and was told by Microsoft they're aware of the issue and are working on a fix. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS!!! COME ON MICROSOFT, GET IT TOGETHER!!!

I have the same issue. Everything is so rediculously slow! Typing is so laggy its unbearable to even use the app. I end up using apple native email app to reply to outlook emails because its the only way I can type.

Same problem.  Especially when I goto the calendar portion.  It's piece of ****.  I am going to try web mail as folks suggested.

Interesting that new user accounts are having the same issue. I’m going to tell Microsoft support it’s not the amount of data in the accounts causing the problem. Either they’re using that as a lame excuse or they are spinning their wheels chasing it. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the update. I deleted more old emails and got my account down to 1.5Gb used out of 5Gb. It’s no better. I believe it’s more so affected by the number of emails, calendar events, etc. My next step is to go back and delete old calendar events from years ago. Interesting find someone else mentioned...if you turn on airplane mode it works great. Scrolling through the inbox (or other email folders) and the calendar is peppy again...Except for the fact that you have no internet connection. Obviously not a fix but from a troubleshooting standpoint the app is trying to communcate with the server to load something, but is struggling. I have background app refresh enabled for the outlook app which I thought might help but NOPE! No matter how long it has had a chance to sit snd catch up with downloading its still very slow. I wish I could go back to the native IOS mail/calendar apps but unfortunately my organization doesnt allow it.
