Outlook app on iPhone is SOOOOO SLOOOOOWWWWWW!!!

The Outlook mobile app is extremely SLOW! Everything about it! Typing an email is SLOW. Scrolling through my inbox is SLOW. Using the calendar is SLOW. Going into the settings menu is SLOW. Searching is SLOW. Even typing a letter or hitting the backspace key is SLOW!

I'm using an iPhone XS running the latest iOS (13.3.1) and latest version of the Outlook app (4.30.0). I’ve tried everything...uninstalling and reinstalling the app, rebooting the phone, hard and soft reset.  I have deleted old emails to clear out my inbox...no help. This is the only app I have problems with out of about 50 apps on my phone. The phone has plenty of CPU and memory available. On my desktop PC, the Outlook with Office 365 account works perfectly fine with no performance issues. Webmail also works fine.

I opened a support case through the mobile app and was told by Microsoft they're aware of the issue and are working on a fix. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS!!! COME ON MICROSOFT, GET IT TOGETHER!!!

Just add your email account to your I phone using the Apple Mail app.

it will work much better which ever server you use.

    Dont use the outlook app.

My experience shows that the outlook app only works with a microsoft outlook email account.

I have tried using a few different servers including BT which is my main one. They just lock up on outlook app.

Stick with setting up your email using the apple mail app. Its easy to set up and will work no problem

i use micro soft 365 for all my work stuff and and apple mail app works with no issues.

OK so I have also been having this issue for some time now.  I recently made on change that initially seems to have greatly increased the response time of the app, especially the calendar option.  Under settings in the Apple iOS, i went into the app settings and changed location from ask each time to never.  This seems to have removed 98% of all my lag issues with the app.  Hopefully it can be this easy for others as well :)

It is simply put a very badly built app. Lets not blane iOS. There are no issues using any other email apps, Gmail, Yahoo or whatever. Even st an enterprise level.

Interesting that new user accounts are having the same issue. I’m going to tell Microsoft support it’s not the amount of data in the accounts causing the problem. Either they’re using that as a lame excuse or they are spinning their wheels chasing it. Thank you for sharing.

Outlook support told me the same thing. So I deleted a bunch of old data, did not make a difference. My 365 account is using 2Gb/5Gb...less than 50% used. My gmail account has 10x that and never has any issues. Lame excuse.
