Outlook app on iPhone is SOOOOO SLOOOOOWWWWWW!!!

The Outlook mobile app is extremely SLOW! Everything about it! Typing an email is SLOW. Scrolling through my inbox is SLOW. Using the calendar is SLOW. Going into the settings menu is SLOW. Searching is SLOW. Even typing a letter or hitting the backspace key is SLOW!

I'm using an iPhone XS running the latest iOS (13.3.1) and latest version of the Outlook app (4.30.0). I’ve tried everything...uninstalling and reinstalling the app, rebooting the phone, hard and soft reset.  I have deleted old emails to clear out my inbox...no help. This is the only app I have problems with out of about 50 apps on my phone. The phone has plenty of CPU and memory available. On my desktop PC, the Outlook with Office 365 account works perfectly fine with no performance issues. Webmail also works fine.

I opened a support case through the mobile app and was told by Microsoft they're aware of the issue and are working on a fix. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS!!! COME ON MICROSOFT, GET IT TOGETHER!!!

My Outlook account will not load my emails on my IPhone!?!?!?! I run updates in OS, Outlook, Google and anything else which requires updates on my 12. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook several times attempting to fix the problem. Can anything be done? I really do not want to switch email systems. Please, send advice.

    Thanks.

If any app developer expects someone to factory reset their device to maybe help their app run, they have got to have the worst app development team.

Am disappointed in MS to not sort this out already. What ever happened to a great experience across platforms, Satya!!!

Ouch! Luckily I am able to use webmail. I dont even bother opening the mobile app anymore. It’s horrifically slow. I cant fathom the idea that Microsoft hasnt fixed this after all this time. This has been going on for close to a year now, and its been getting worse.

Hi ThadMegow - Sorry to hear you are having issues, but thank you for chiming in. Your experience sounds exactly like mine. I have been using webmail because the app is unusable. What type of account are you using with the Outlook app. I am using Office 365 for business.

Regarding your other post about not being able to reach the Apple forum link, I have no idea why. I just checked the link again, and you have the right URL and I can get to it even when I'm signed out of the Apple website. I am not a developer and did not post on the developer page. So far you are not missing much there. I received a suggestion to update iOS to 13.4 which must have just been released within the last few days. However I highly doubt this will help, as the Outlook app performance has become worse with every update of the Outlook app, independent of the version of iOS. None the less, I will update the iOS and report back.

PS - I like that you used the word "latent" and time things in "ms"! Rock on fellow nerd...LOL! I have to ask...what do you do?
