Outlook app on iPhone is SOOOOO SLOOOOOWWWWWW!!!

The Outlook mobile app is extremely SLOW! Everything about it! Typing an email is SLOW. Scrolling through my inbox is SLOW. Using the calendar is SLOW. Going into the settings menu is SLOW. Searching is SLOW. Even typing a letter or hitting the backspace key is SLOW!

I'm using an iPhone XS running the latest iOS (13.3.1) and latest version of the Outlook app (4.30.0). I’ve tried everything...uninstalling and reinstalling the app, rebooting the phone, hard and soft reset.  I have deleted old emails to clear out my inbox...no help. This is the only app I have problems with out of about 50 apps on my phone. The phone has plenty of CPU and memory available. On my desktop PC, the Outlook with Office 365 account works perfectly fine with no performance issues. Webmail also works fine.

I opened a support case through the mobile app and was told by Microsoft they're aware of the issue and are working on a fix. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS!!! COME ON MICROSOFT, GET IT TOGETHER!!!

    Same issue. I need the shared calendars as the scheduling tool the app offers (replying, clicking calendar open slots, and it generates “times I am available”- but I literally cannot use the app, I’ve worked with my it department - no luck- completely up to date - and the conversations around the app have been going on from years. I’m literally going to have to get a new phone (I guess??) in hopes of it working. For a company like Microsoft and a product like outlook that millions of people use - the radio silence and zero fix (besides making changes on our end so we can’t even use the App as we need to) is positively ridiculous and inexcusable.

    Didn't work for me as related to iPhone 6S running 12.5.4 IOS. On average it takes between 7 and 10 seconds to open Outlook. Unacceptable. I only have 450 emails on the phone too. when comparing that to apps like LASTPASS and YOUTUBE, their apps open in about 4 seconds.

    Turning off cellular and wifi on my iPad fixes the speed issue. Not really a fix!

    When the networks are turned On, the problem is back.

    I switched from push to fetch for data updates. The constant connection seems to be the issue. I can wait 15 min to get new emails for do a refresh to get manually when I want.

    Thanks for the tip to indicate the connection was causing the issue

    Try deleting shared calendars from the app if you have not already. It helped me.

    LOL thanks for the chuckle! 🤣 I wish I could go back to apple apps but unfortunately I am handcuffed. Try deleting shared calendars from the app if you have not already. It helped me.
