I have sent items on my phone that does not appear on my sent items in Outlook in desktop. I tried to look for configuration for sent items in the app, same thing with the desktop where you can set Outlook to save sent items, but I couldn't find any.

I’m sure I tried it in the past and it didn’t work and for months I’ve just resigned myself to it. Anyway I decided to have another crack at it and it worked. Maybe there’s been an update sometime in the interim which no one at Microsoft told us about. Simple to do if you want to give it another try.
Same here. I've deleted account from the phone completely numerous times. This only became an issue for us after updating Microsoft Exchange 2012 (the IMAP server) to CU19 update. So something in that has caused it. Unfortunately we can't rollback the update because it is needed in the main business.

Yes, the help desk told me to reset the offending account. It worked and so simple! Go to outlook settings, press the name of the account and near the bottom of the page is an option to reset it. I cannot comprehend why no one has said this before.
As mentioned before.. this does NOT work in most cases. I've certainly tried that multiple times w/o success.
The be-all / end-all solution is to completely remove the app, switch off the phone and start from scratch.
And yes... very disappointing that after such a long time MS doesn't weigh in on this very real and annoying issue.

Resetting the account did not work for me. I had to go through all the emails I had sent from my phone and then forward them to myself to create a copy of them. Then delete the account and set it up again. Sure enough all those sent messages that did not sync disappeared. But it did fix the problem. Now I have issues with receiving multiple notifications on my phone for the same emails I receive, even when the email has already been deleted. I give up.
