Hotmail account repeatedly locked

On Sat Jan 8, 2022, my outlook/hotmail account was temporarily locked due to "unusual activity". I requested a verification code, and my account was unlocked. I changed my password. I logged in OK the next day. I can receive emails, but as soon as I send an email, my account is locked again. What can I do?

    My apology if you encounter an issue that your Outlook/Hotmail account locked. Let me go ahead and assist you.

    I made a research and we found out that this matter is an on-going issue. I will be consulting our internal team about this issue once I gather the information. I keep you posted.

    I have the same issue. Please contact me at mt gmail account, I get locked out of my hotmail account every tie I try to send and email, Thank you, ******@hotmail.com

    Hi everyone - I had a similar issue to all here (on outlook.com) and at the moment at least, it appears to be resolved.

    I used, as others have mentioned, another phone to get the text confirmation through after about 3/4 attempts on separate days over a space of a week. This got me through on a desktop, what I also did however was remove the outlook app from my android phone (of the same phone number I was originally trying, and failing to get verification SMS too). The phone is quite old and hadn't been updated in a while so I just suspect it may been causing some issues.

    I hope this helps to anyone still struggling.

    Deleting sent emails definitely cured my problem.....for the time being. Still nothing from Microsoft themselves though
