Hotmail account repeatedly locked

On Sat Jan 8, 2022, my outlook/hotmail account was temporarily locked due to "unusual activity". I requested a verification code, and my account was unlocked. I changed my password. I logged in OK the next day. I can receive emails, but as soon as I send an email, my account is locked again. What can I do?

    Anyone had a solution to this yet?

    I yet cannot unlock mine I’ve used 9 numbers and now all exceeded limit! Don’t know what else to do! But I need my email!!

    It's even more confusing when Outlook is BOTH... and I'm in an Outlook forum. But can someone get an outlook account if they don't have Office with Outlook? I have an ancient MSN account and my problem seems to be with my mail program Thunderbird... and how it's interacting with the MS mail servers... and that phones are being blocked trying to unlock an account. It seems there are two problems... both on MS's end.

    It's really up to the mod to get this information to pass on to whatever tech team there is out there... and I don't see the mod doing it.

    Perhaps you can get straight answers if you define PC-based mail programs and web-based mail. I don't know the difference and others may not, either.
