Hotmail account repeatedly locked

On Sat Jan 8, 2022, my outlook/hotmail account was temporarily locked due to "unusual activity". I requested a verification code, and my account was unlocked. I changed my password. I logged in OK the next day. I can receive emails, but as soon as I send an email, my account is locked again. What can I do?

    With the blocking, I cannot enter in the account to delete emails from the sent folder, or any other action.

    Be warned, I had to use my father's mobile phone to get the unblocking code after my phone's number was also blocked from too may attempts! It is a nuisance but at least offers you a way in to see if the deletion solution works.

    Microsoft really should have fixed this by now considering the first post in the thread is 2 weeks old and the number of victims of this is growing...

    First you need unblocking the account with usual way. Enter your password and you receive message code with sms from Microsoft.

    That "solution" might work... but it doesn't explain why you're not getting a message that you've exceeded your storage capacity.... and not one that you've violated the Terms of Services and then one's phone number is blocked trying to get the account reactivated.

    Those two screwups are ENTIRELY on MS's end.

    And if one can get back into one's account to delete mail... why not just move them to local storage rather than delete them? I'd be mighty pissed if having to delete mail was ANY sort of solution.

    If you have a mail program like Outlook or Thunderbird.... if you can get into your account... but get blocked trying to send... can't you just move old letters to local storage and get them off the mail server instead of actually deleting old mail? Seriously, what is the point of a mail service if you have to delete mail for it to work.... assuming, of course, that you're not exceeding storage capacity. If that's the case THAT should be the error message... not that one has violated MS's terms of service..
