My outlook ribbon's font size is suddenly massive. How do I change it back to a reasonable size like the rest of the app?

I tried changing app text size settings on my computer but this shrunk everything else. I just want to reduce the size of the RIBBON ONLY in my outlook app. No clue why this has happened.

As you can see below, the ribbon is very large but the rest of the app is normal, as it should be. Please help.

Here is a crazy fix that I found...

Seems that when you start Outlook the Ribbon is an inconsistent font to that of the Calendar (which in my case was the correct font). The fix:

  • Open Calendar in a NEW window (right click on the calendar icon on the bottom left of the Outlook form - choose "Open in New Window")
  • Close the Outlook Mail Window. This will leave the Calendar window the only active Outlook window
  • On the Calendar Window - Right Click on the Envelope icon and choose "Open in New Window"

Your font will be restored back to the smaller font..

Crazy but true!!

Remember - if you can't explain it - Feature it!!

    This did NOT work for me at all. The buttons on the ribbon are ridiculously large. I don't have room to make my app big enough to give room to the Quick Step space and I can't remove buttons that I don't use at all (Narration, anyone??). I hate this ribbon after my Outlook update and I will think twice before doing another update in the future.

    I had the exact opposite problem--my ribbon font was so small that I could barely see it. I used your suggestion and it restored the font back to normal size.

    Mine was the same. Almost too small to read. For me, I opened the Calendar in a new Window, then closed all of Outlook, and when it came back up, it was fine. As with all Microsoft products, if it is misbehaving, reboot. At least ONE thing has stayed consistent through all the OSs from MS! <eye roll>
