The word on the street is that Outlook is wanting MFA.  So either you have to turn on MFA or disable ADAL

Fix get them onto MFA or

Close Outlook

Open Regedit

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity

Create REG_DWORD

EnableADAL

Hi Sam,

Based on the error message, the issue is related to Trusted Platform Module(TPM). You need to check whether your TPM works correctly. You try to back up your data and clear TPM. It will reset your security processor to its default settings. For your reference:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4096339/windows-10-device-protection-in-windows-defender-security-center#clearTPM

For more details about TPM, you can follow the link below:

Regards,

Carlos

Once again I had this problem on a computer, and uninstalling the Trusted Platform Module 2.0 in Device Manager and then reboot solved the problem this time.

I notice with distaste that many are crediting another poster with this solution, after they obviously copied your post verbatim!

This solution was the one the worked for me. Since the user in question was not a user of Outlook, or any Office apps, the required registry entries for the other remedy was impossible.

A quick note, if any user is away from the Office, and domain servers, they will need to either go into the office, or to enable VPN access before leaving the managed domain.

This solution was delivered on several machines successfully, however it is worth noting that if the user is not reading email on Outlook, and instead using a browser based "Web Mail", the registry settings tweak will not work as the entries do not exist.
