My google pixel 2 phone recently updated the outlook app. Now the app crashes on startup. I tried clearing the cache and uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Ive removed my work account as well. Still will not work. I get as far as the adding account page then it crashes and ask to send a report.

Many thanks for your reply. I have found where Android system webview was but to my big surprise, it is mentioned "disabled" . And when I go to Google Play Store and I am typing Android System Webview, no "uninstalled" nor "installed" are mentioned and there is no "update" click mentioned . Somebody can help me ? Many thanks !

    Hello all,

Don't know why but Outlook crashing issue seems stopped after I go to Google Play Store and uninstall the Android System Webview app.

    Hope it helps.

It's worked for me too, thank you.

On Twitter , there were a lot of discussion about the issue.

Some of my contacts were in the same situation as me. On my galaxy A5, the Android System Webview app is shown as disabled. So solutions proposed on Twitter by some users was to disable Chrome and to re install Chrome . It worked , the issue disappeared but I do hope that it is not a temporary solution and that Google will send an automatic update of this Android System Webview.

When I read the last comment in this thread, I tried forcing Chrome to deactivate. It´s no loss for me, since I am using Microsoft Edge as my browser.

And that did the trick - outlook is now working just fine.
    Anyone got an idea why?
