My google pixel 2 phone recently updated the outlook app. Now the app crashes on startup. I tried clearing the cache and uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Ive removed my work account as well. Still will not work. I get as far as the adding account page then it crashes and ask to send a report.

This steps above did not work for me.

However the installation of Android Systems WebView Beta app may not have worked. It presented this error "90.0.4430.30 is not the system's currently selected WebView provider".  The app asked if I wanted to change providers, but it would no let me selected the latest version. The WebView is just for filing error traces and should not impact the app.

    The following worked for me:

    1. install the Android System WebView Beta app (e.g., from the Google Play Store)
    2. re-install Outlook (i.e., uninstall then install again from Google Play Store), then clear the cash and data from Outlook, then setup email accounts

You may also be able to simply update your current Android System WebView installation, also through the Google Play Store.  However, currently I believe there is a very high volume of update requests, because mine spun/hung at "Pending" installation status for at least 20 minutes, probably longer. The beta version only hung on Pending for a few seconds.

Note, I was also having Gmail app crash problems on startup, and this seems to have resolved those issues as well if one replaces the word "Outlook" with "Gmail app" in step 2 above.

Well here's something I found on my Galaxy S10e.  I noticed that everyone I cleared the cache and data, Outlook worked again but I had to enter the account I was using.   That is it worked until I shut it down, but when I opened it up again it was back to misbehaving.   I also noticed that the storage (cache and data) was back to where it had been.  I then tried setting what the native Samsung email app was doing.  As soon as I opened it, I got a message: "Email keeps stopping".  I went ahead and cleared the cache and data for this app, but did not add back the account.  Since then Outlook seems to be working.  This all happened shortly after downloading the latest Android update.   I think the problem is not with Microsoft or Outlook, but with the latest version of Android.

    Hello all,

Don't know why but Outlook crashing issue seems stopped after I go to Google Play Store and uninstall the Android System Webview app.

    Hope it helps.

    This worked for me too.

Could solve this issue on my end with actualizing the WebView
