My google pixel 2 phone recently updated the outlook app. Now the app crashes on startup. I tried clearing the cache and uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Ive removed my work account as well. Still will not work. I get as far as the adding account page then it crashes and ask to send a report.

Uninstalling Android System WebView seems to do the trick in some cases.

My Samsung Galaxy A70 started playing up 22/23rd March 2021 with the MS Outlook app crashing then wi-fi access was prevented.

A friend advised me after trying many other reboots reloading etc. to Go to Settings and Reset the Network settings - General Management -touch Reset, tap Reset network settings, tap Reset settings, entered my PIN/Password/Pattern, finally tap Reset...

The phone restarted and my wi-fi connection working along with Outlook! Yay!

Yes - someone will have some work to do fixing the problem as it must affect a lot of people!

Yes, I noticed that the Google Play Store had an update for the System Webview app dated March 22, just about time we were all in a panic about Outlook.  I had figured out by then that the problem was with Android since several other apps unrelated to Outlook began the load and die behavior.   Anyway just installing the update did the trick.

Just install the latest Android Systems WebView (not the Beta).  That seemed to work for me.
