Outlook app for Android keeps crashing

My google pixel 2 phone recently updated the outlook app. Now the app crashes on startup. I tried clearing the cache and uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Ive removed my work account as well. Still will not work. I get as far as the adding account page then it crashes and ask to send a report.

    It seems that I had the same issue since las week !

    First, I cleared cache, uninstall and install back --> It works during 1 week until this evening !

    But today I fixed by removing calendar widget on my home !

    It looks like than the problem (in my case) come more from widget than outlook !

    If you have the same issue and the widget try to remove it and reopen outlook and tell us if it works !

    Crashing happens to me too, but only from hotmail.com and only from some US Servers, not from European servers. I have 2 totally different hotmail e-mail addresses, one from US and two from Europe and also one gmail.com entered in my Android Outlook. Only that from the US hotmail keeps crashing and I can only work with that email on my PC. The other emails work normal on my Android Outlook.

    So Microsoft, check that!

    March 29, 2020 this just started happening to me, Outlook would close/crash  a few seconds after I opened the app.  I contacted support and they sent this fix and it worked:

    1  open outlook

    2  tap menu bars then tap gear

    3  see accounts section then tap affected account

    4  delete account

    5  restart phone

    6  re-launch app and add the account back

    I also have an old phone with an old version of outlook, I turned it on after performing this fix on my new phone.....I did not have to perform the fix for the second phone, the fix applied automatically across devices.

    I turned on my old phone that has Outlook version 3.0.98 it crashes the same as my new phone with version 4.1.48

    The way we "fixed" this where I work: (not really a fix, it's a workaround)

    • Remove Work profile

    && Remove Company Portal

    • Remove all phone identifiers from Intune.
    • Full Factory reset

    After confirmation of completing factory reset (y'know, because users):

    • Add device to allowed list in Intune
    • Install Company Portal
    • Log in with work account

    Fixed it in about 90% of cases, some needed to do this twice or it didnt work at all...

    Only had succes without factory reset once or twice on a test device... not on something being used daily. 

    And I've only seen it happen om Samsung devices.
