My google pixel 2 phone recently updated the outlook app. Now the app crashes on startup. I tried clearing the cache and uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Ive removed my work account as well. Still will not work. I get as far as the adding account page then it crashes and ask to send a report.

PS I think you know you have the problem because when you add an account that outlook cant handle you get the outllook popup message just after you have added account and it says something like we are just updating your calendars or something like that and at that point your outlook is done and has to be reinstalled

I found that this happens on mobile devices when you add extra accounts to outlook that dont have a calendar e.g you can add as many hotmail accounts etc that have calendars and it works fine but when you add an email account that doesnt have a calendar then it causes outlook to crash.  On my android phones I got round this by using outlook for my hotmail etc that have calendars and use gmail for my other accounts e.g virginmedia mail etc that dont have built in calendars.  I have not had any issues since and dont want to risk trying to add my other accounts to outlook on my phone as it is a real pain when it crashes as you have to completely reinstall everything.  This all happened after a Microsoft update and is nothing to do with your devices or software etc, I cant remember which update it was but I dont think they have fixed it yet so I wont risk adding the extra accounts on my phone.  I hope this helps
