Split from this thread.

I've been having the same problem. I've been using the support feature in the app haven't been any help yet. I'm the admin of my org and none of the settings have changed for my login. Previously when used this app and added an account it would ask me if I wanted to stay logged in. I've deleted everything, cleared cache and app data, uninstalled everything, and I've never seen that option again when I add my account again. When ever I login I see a bunch of screens pop-up and they disappear and I have no idea what it's doing.

I force stopped Outlook, uninstalled, (didn't clear cache and data), reinstalled Outlook 365, and it's working normally with the information already on the phone.  I may have had more than one Outlook app installed.  I'm just glad it's working.

We have users in our organization having the same issues.  MS needs to look into it.   We just opened a ticket within the app and they haven't been helpful so far.

Something appears to have broken recently when utilizing multiple Microsoft applications on Android along with the Microsoft Authenticator app. The authenticator app is attempting to perform SSO functions between Microsoft Apps. When you switch to a third party mail application, it eliminates the ability for Authenticator to perform SSO and authentication brokering for mail, and the conflict no longer exists.

So far, the fix appears to be:

    A) Remove Microsoft Authenticator. Utilize OTP codes, SMS messages, Phone Calls, or Email for MFA if needed.

    OR

    B) Remove additional Microsoft applications. The issue occurs only when multiple Microsoft applications are used. Authenticator attempts to share the log on session between all Microsoft apps, and when Outlook, Teams, Office applications, etc on Android go to refresh their access token, they balk.

    OR

    C) Register your device with your organizations Azure AD. Do this from the Settings > Device Registration item in the Microsoft Authenticator app.

The issue never occurred previously, despite running multiple applications for months. A recent update to Microsoft applications on Android started the issue, though I'm not sure at this point if the issue is with Authenitcator itself or if the other Microsoft apps need updates to work better with Authenticator. Outlook has been updated several times since Authenticator, but other apps like Teams are still behind. Hopefully some app updates come out soon that make these work seamlessly again.

My 2 cents, this is the problem, labourgeoisie is correct.  My org has all the problems described in the thread, we use the App as the default option for 2FA for Office 365 Enterprise.  The constant logins were driving me nuts so i removed all Microsoft Accounts from Android Settings, removed all Microsoft apps other than OneDrive and Authenticator.  I installed Outlook and for 24 hours no problem.  I installed Teams this afternoon and i have had to sign in 3 times to Outlook, twice to Teams.

Hey Microsoft, if you can't get your Single Sign On to work please don't use your customers as Beta Testers.  Even worse is you tossing these same customers from division to division each one pointing their finger at another when you know full well what the problems are but you just can't fix it.

FYI, there have been multiple advisories for various functions of the Office 365 Platform, many have to due with logins, accounts not provisioning, mailbox degradation, SharePoint issues, Outlook problems for users with Multiple Accounts and so on.  I am not a fan of coincidences so i am sure there is a connection.

And i am trying option C to see if it fixes the problem for me, will report back.

    Hi All,

Thank you all for sharing this information in this thread. We identified that this problem only occurs on Android devices. I can see more and more people have the same problem, and some users have also shared fixes here. To help other users with related issues easily find the valuable solutions, here are the summary:

    1. Clear the cache.

In Android settings, go to Apps > Outlook > Force stop the app > clear the cache and data. Then open app again.

    1. Reinstall Outlook.

In Android settings, go to Apps > Outlook > Force stop the app. Then uninstall and reinstall it.

Meanwhile, thanks a lot for @labourgeoisie’s sharing:

Besides, I can see that this problem has impacted a lot of users and this should be investigated. Since we are support for Windows, honestly, we don’t have enough resources to further check it. Your understanding is much appreciated. To better help you, please kindly do a screen recording, and repro this problem, then go to Outlook - Settings - Help & Feedback- Collect Diagnostics to generate an incidentID. Then share this with MS support through a case investigation (Settings > Help & Feedback > Contact Support). I believe this can help the in-app engineers troubleshoot your problem.

Thank you for all your time and efforts. Please also feel free to share updates with us at your convenience. We truly appreciate your understanding.

    Best Regards,

    Sylvie
