Cannot print from outlook 2016.

Hello,

I have been with the support team multiple times and we still cannot figure out why I cannot print from my Outlook App.

We have tried resetting the print spooler, updating Outlook, updated any and all drivers on my computer, temp files seem to be fine with full permissions on my account. I am kind of at my wits end with this, the only way i can print is by emailing the documents to my printer, and that is such a waste of paper because i really only need to print to PDF most of the time, but it will not function.

My printer works with every other application, and it will print from outlook when open in a web browser.

I have noticed that my outlook is a 32-bit version running on 64-bit windows, and while i have read that is should function and have no issues in this configuration I am curious if the smaller memory available in the 32-bit version could be causing my issues?

grasping at straws here but I don't know what else we can do.

Please hellp!!!!

Unfortunately from what i can tell its a low priority issue.....

i'm glad you can print to PDF, my outlook will not even do that!!

Fingers crossed enough of us pop up that it gets bumped up in priority, but i also don't wish this on anyone else. its frustrating haha

    Hi Gabriel,

I am also having this issue on two machines printing to a HP MFC. It appears to be affecting Word 365 as well. My workaround is to print to Adobe Acrobat and then print the resulting .pdf

Is Microsoft any closer to diagnosing the issue?

    TH,

I am experiencing the same issue with a small number of users and have not found a resolution as of yet. The only (less than ideal) workaround is to have our users reboot or log out. That doesn't inspire a lot of confidence believe it or not.

Hoping to get this resolved asap.

    TH,

I followed up with Barb (previous poster) offline and she was able to help me get a repro of the issue.  I was able to cause the problem by installing the Venera font from https://www.onlinewebfonts.com.  When I try to print an email with that font I see the problem and get error "Printer not ready".

I also tested with the Windows 10 Mail App and using that app I was able to print the email.  Its not a great workaround but it might be an option until this can get fixed.  In the search box search for Mail, open it, add your email account and try using it to print.

I'll get a bug submitted on this but I am not sure yet which team will need to do the fix or how long it will take.  Since we only have a couple reports at the moment it will not get very high priority.  If your company has a premier support agreement please ask them to open a support case and escalate it for a hotfix.  That will get it higher priority.  I'll get it submitted in the meantime and update when I know more.
