Turn Off Advanced Threat Protection in Outlook.com

First, I have an @msn.com email address. This is not an Office 365 business email address!

All the links in my email prefaced with the https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com.  Looking this up is part of the Exchange advanced threat protection package which they talk about in Office 365 for business.  How do I turn this off for my personal @msn.com email account.  It is actually causing more problems for me than it "protects" me so I need to turn this off.  How do I turn this off?  Again, this is happening on a personal account, not a business account.

    To provide the best protection for your account, Safelinks are on by default. You can turn them off by signing in to https://outlook.live.com. Then select Settings > Premium > Security. There's a toggle under Advanced Security that you can use to turn off Safelinks. Note that turning off Safelinks will only affect future messages you receive. It won't change the link format in messages you've already received.

    I was having this problem with my Android phone using both the outlook app and going to outlook.live.com in my browsers. I tried finding the premium choice to turn this off but it wasnt showing up. I finally used my laptop to open the outlook webmail page. I finally found the premium choice. It looks like a diamond icon next to the settings cog icon on the top right. Once I clicked on Premium, I found the Security choice. There was the Advanced security option and I turned it off. Success!!!! Now when I click on links inside my android outlook app, instead of seeing the safe links, it goes right to the web page for the link. At least I know how to fix this if Microsoft tries to re enable  it on me...

    the link does not work as i am not a security officer.  i have been a loyal hotmail and outlook customer for 15 years and NOW I CANt OPEN LINKS FROM TRUSTED SIGHTS SUCH AS - GUESS WHAT? -MICROSOFT.

    this is complete BS.  i am changing to gmail permanently.

    This worked for me (Jan 29, 2019):

    • Sign in to https://outlook.live.com
    • Click on the “Manage premium” icon (diamond icon)
    • Click "Premium" then Security.
    • Toggle the switch off under "Advanced Security"
