Running Outlook on the iMac causes the screen to flicker and eventually black out and reduce to half/split screen display.

If I don't run the Outlook app the Mac runs like clockwork.

With Outlook active, at some point the flickering begins and then gets progressively worse until the screen is completed fuzzed or it pops back to a half black screen (which continues to flicker intermittently - more often than not)

Whilst it sounds like a hardware issue (and I've ordered a new Mac thinking it was!) it appears to be tied to Outlook.

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)

3.3 GHz Intel Core i5

8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3

AMD Radeon R9 M395 2048 MB

Mac OS 10.14.1 (18B75)

Outlook 16.19

Rebooting seems to clear it until we run Outlook again, then the cycle continues.

They are taking our Money and offer a product that's not working correctly.

Yeah, MicroSoft really sucks. Any other company would have fixed this issue by now.

    I have the identical problem...

upgraded disk, memory, ran diagnostics - no hardware problem found...

Fixed it by deleting outlook and using "Airmail"

I have had the same issues Microsoft tell me that they don't know why Outlook is doing this and will to have a fix because of this.

Have done everything that Microsoft have told me including total reinstallation of Mac OS and Office 365 but problem still persists.

We switched to Spark which works ok except it does not support office 365 shared mail account.

I am really annoyed that Microsoft can't get into gear and fix this screen flickering issue.

Just out of interest, have Microsoft offered any solutions to this for anyone yet as it's been going on for several months? They seemed adamant it was a Mac/macOS issue despite everyone reporting the issue starting after an update, and only happens with Outlook open 🤦‍♂️

They also seem to still be getting everyone to post their issues under a new post even though they are clearly all related, not really how forums work is it!!!

    I've found a "work-around" that works on my iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015).

I have another (non-retina) screen attached to my iMac through HDMI. As long as I keep Outlook running on the secondary screen I will not get issues anymore with the main screen of the iMac flashing.
