Calendar event showing up the wrong timezone

Hi there, I refer to the screenshots below. The user, Pamela, sends out a calendar invite to both Jeff and Kok Guan, specifying the correct timezone UTC +0800. However, what Jeff views this event on his Mac running on Yosemite 10.10.2 is the UTC +0000 timezone, Monrovia, Reykjavik. The time indicated is displayed 6am instead of the actual 2pm, despite showing a notification that the event will commence at 2pm on Jeff's Mac. How do i go about correcting/removing the UTC +0000, Monrovia, Reykjavik, timezone stamp. Appreciate some help with this. Thanks!

Unfortunately, the server update won't fix existing meetings automatically.  However, users MAY be able to fix it themselves if they find the original meeting invitation (could be in Deleted Items) and re-accept the meeting(s) with the "UTC" time zones.  (Let us know if that works.)

If that doesn't work, they will have to ask the organizer to re-send the invitation.  (Organizer just has to open the meeting on his/her calendar and click "Send Update." Make sure to "Edit Series" if it is a recurring meeting.)

    Dear all,

    not sure if my problem is related to the topics discussed in this thread but I am having similar problems with meeting invites from Outlook clients in time zones different from my own time zone. This thread seemed the closest from what I found searching the internet.

    Invites are coming in from various Outlook clients on Windows in various time zones. I am using Apple Mail and Apple Calendar on MacOS Sierra. Invites coming in via mail with ics attachment. MacOs Sierra Calendar app recognizes the mail attachments and creates a new event in my Calendar inbox. Unfortunately, the time of the meeting is reflected wrongly and stays the same as the original time in the original time zone. This started only a few days ago.

    Example: I am in CET time zone (UTC +1) and the invite comes from Eastern South America time zone (UTC +4). Invite in UTC +4 is stating 3 pm. The correct time for the meeting in my time zone would be 6 pm but the meeting is entered into my calendar with starting time 3 pm. Very frustrating. 

    Anyone has any idea what is happening here? Thanks!

    Hi!

    Yes, it's only the all-day events that are shown on the wrong day.

    When I make an appointment for today, wednesday at 11:15 - 12:15, from the iPhone, it's shown at the correct day in Outlook calendar BUT I noticed one strange thing. If I open the event then it says that it's between 9:15 - 10:15 UTC Coordinate universal time, but then an alert is showing saying that "The event is taking place 11:15 in the timezone of the computer".

    As a workaround for an all-day event try leaving the box unchecked and schedule a 12:00 - 12:00 (24-hour) meeting instead, and see if that shows on the correct day.

    I suggest you contact your Microsoft support channel and let them know you want the EAS time zone fix from Exchange 2013 backported to 2010.  The more requests for this they get, the more likely they will migrate the change over.  There are likely other customers who have the same need.

    Fair call. I'll escalate it.

    I noticed that I haven't written it anywhere, but I'm using the built in calendar app from Apple when I'm booking my meetings - and an other third party app called "Månaden". Perhaps that's the reason...? 

    If you're referring to the iOS Calendar app, then the behavior you've been seeing is expected (without the server code change that compensates).  iOS apparently sends the time to the server in UTC.
