How to switch back to old "Hotmail" interface layout? (Aug 2016)

A few days ago my Hotmail e-mail account suddenly switch to the "Outlook" mail & layout (where the little blue line fills in across the screen under the "Outlook" icon....) I hate it! Why did it change & HOW CAN I SWITCH BACK TO THE OLD HOTMAIL FORMAT I WAS COMFORTABLE WITH ALL THESE YEARS???

    This is ridiculous that it can change without warning!! Yesterday I was using my old hotmail interface and today everything is different. You say there is no way of reverting, but I don't believe you! That simply cannot be the case. Please provide this option for us, in conjunction with your developers. It can't be that difficult!!

    OP here. ....And ANOTHER thing....since they've switched me over to the new look, I'm noticing I'll randomly see parts of some incoming email text hi-lighted in blue... When i hover over it, or right-click I guess , it brings up something called "Boomerang"... What THE **** is THAT all about?????

    It is one of many new **** ups from Microsoft. Part of the new downgrade program where they use resources to make things worse....Best thing is probably to route all hotmail to gmail.....

    One thing that worries me is that it will automatically open junk mail that I would just block before and not open so as not to encourage more of them.  Microsoft simply have to sort this out - it is outrageous that we switch on our computers one day and find this changed without our permission or agreement.  There are so many flaws I can't begin to list them all

    The new layout is horrible i hate it and so do lots of people put it back the way it was
