A few days ago my Hotmail e-mail account suddenly switch to the "Outlook" mail & layout (where the little blue line fills in across the screen under the "Outlook" icon....) I hate it! Why did it change & HOW CAN I SWITCH BACK TO THE OLD HOTMAIL FORMAT I WAS COMFORTABLE WITH ALL THESE YEARS???

Innovation was also when Microsoft decided to remove the "start" button in Windows and then he realized it was a piece of **** and then ran for cover immediately. The old hotmail interface was simple intuitive fast and worked perfectly. Nobody asked you to innovate and think nobody has ever complained about the service. I used it now for more than 20 years but now, unfortunately, just as you have ruined prefer to use gmail.

Could not agree more, the current forced format is insufficiently tested, buggy as heck and optimized for various platforms.

The constant response of "make sure you clear your browser cache and update to a new version" a lazy script and proves the point.

So lets assume it's less about people unable to adapt to changes, and significant performance and feature loss..

How are you overcoming the serious loss of performance on this interface and the fact it now under performs compared to Gmail?

I've got it "barely tolerable" by blocking most of the forced scripting (Skype especially) but it's still really buggy.

What's exactly your issue with the new Outlook interface, I can do anything I want on my Hotmail account using @outlook.com page same with my gmail account. You might just need a Outlook tech specialist to help you out navigate and be familiar again with those old features you need as well into the new ones added.

Maybe sir your just using an outdated browser. All browsers have issue even those with Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Edge. And the response "make sure you clear your browser cache and update to a new version" a lazy script and proves the point. Is a standard troubleshoot just like try cleaning the engines of your car and try to start it again.

Try cleaning the engine of your car and try re-starting?  You are kidding, right?  Are people truly that unknowing of the mechanical workings of a car?  I've been working on cars my whole life and I have never heard of cleaning an engine to fix it.

With respect, this is a bit comical on several levels....

-You don't clean an engine, and then restart it...

-Your making the incorrect assumption multiple platforms and browsers have not been tried (Other posts highlight it).

-After the first 10 minutes on the phone it should be clear when working with the Microsoft reps not everyone has the same issues with tech, some of us work in it, and try a few (dozen) things before reaching out..

-The Edge Browser itself has a number of design flaws, most importantly the inability to correctly change and point download locations without going to a random location (Windows Explorer, really? WTH!?!) So I try to avoid it.

In fact the best anecdotal example of the flawed implementation is how these forums work.....

I receive a new notification, and the majority of the time when I hit reply instead of being taken to the message in question, I'm always brought to the first post, irregardless browser, the fact I was on this page 2 minutes previous or clicking "Message Header" or "Read this Reply"...
