A few days ago my Hotmail e-mail account suddenly switch to the "Outlook" mail & layout (where the little blue line fills in across the screen under the "Outlook" icon....) I hate it! Why did it change & HOW CAN I SWITCH BACK TO THE OLD HOTMAIL FORMAT I WAS COMFORTABLE WITH ALL THESE YEARS???

    Hello,

I appreciate your concern about the Hotmail to Outlook.com

Your Hotmail address and password, saved emails, contacts, calendars, and rules were automatically moved to your new Outlook.com inbox. You have the option to keep your @Hotmail address and/or get an @Outlook.com address.

Note: Once the account is upgraded there is no way it can go back to older interface.

Please post to us if you have any further queries to help you better.

I, too, hate the new interface. The previous one was much, much better. -- surely any changes should be improvements and make the service better. That is not the case here.

1 -- Now the print in the Inbox is far too small.

2 -- Worse still, now I cannot view an email in it's full width (as before) in the right side viewing pane.

Now I can only read an email by scrolling right and left to read EVERY SINGLE LINE  --THIS IS RIDICULOUS !!

Before, I could click on the arrow to expand the pane to the right (displacing the adverts) so the email could be      seen full width.

I cannot find any way to do this on the new layout.

I have a Hotmail.co.uk account and the previous interface/layout was excellent --- is there any way it can be changed back from this awful new one?

    Thankyou,     William Prince.

Yes....agreed. The old interface was not broke....so WHY try to fix it?

MICROSOFT: Why NOT allow an option for users to keep the old layout if they want to? If the new version is so appealing & superior, surely most users will stick with it, so what's the harm in offering the option to those who prefer the older version???

Also, does anyone else notice that the new version is waaaay slower loading & opening?

I am getting SO sick and tired of the **** MICROSOFT screwing around with MY PC. I CHOSE NOT TO HAVE OUTLOOK - I DO NOT WANT IT - IT'S SLOW and it's just like Microsoft's attempt to FORCE my Windows 8.1 PC to "upgrade" to Windows 10 when I NEVER signed up for the switch. My PC has NEVER RUN RIGHT AFTER Microsoft attempted to "fix" what they had ILLEGALLY DONE. After almost two decades of using Hotmail I will be abandoning it for gmail and as soon as this PC dies I will be looking in to another OS.

Microsoft...it's very wise for you to give thought to NOT BITING THE HANDS THAT FEED YOU...it "could" come back to bite you in the azz!

    Hello,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.

As you have mentioned that the new interface is Slower loading and opening, How exactly are you accessing the account, is it through browser or through any other applications?

To get the most out of Outlook.com, we recommend that you use the latest version of your browser, otherwise some features might not work or display properly.
