A few days ago my Hotmail e-mail account suddenly switch to the "Outlook" mail & layout (where the little blue line fills in across the screen under the "Outlook" icon....) I hate it! Why did it change & HOW CAN I SWITCH BACK TO THE OLD HOTMAIL FORMAT I WAS COMFORTABLE WITH ALL THESE YEARS???

I have found it very slow as well, my emails are not coming through quick, if at all, I sent an email to my self from a gmail account and cc other people in, they have all the email but my new look on hotmail still hasn't received it and this is nearly 1 hour ago now, this is outrageous and to change it on a work day again with no notice is just down right disgraceful .....................  How do i keep my hotmail email address and NOT change to outlook email address, i can't see any obvious options and I don't want to suddenly be told that it has change with out being given a time scale to not accept the change....... Windows 10 was just as bad, my computer was not compatible,  it left my computer with all sorts of problems when i took it off and my computer company was on the phone to me on numerous occasions trying to put it right......    Go back to the drawing board.....   Please ask before you do anything again that disrupts my life again, surely I have the right to choose.......

I have never got the mail you talk about. Just incredible how you change something who did work ok, to work like a very early beta product, with so many errors and a total lack of user freindliness... I never buy a Microsoft  product again

Yes, they have been advertising but I did not get any email saying that they are going to migrate me to the new platform.  Who was the sender so I can search all my previous emails?  Also, like any other company they should have inform users ahead of time the migrate schedule so the users would not be surprise to see a new interface when they log on.

Microsoft has been advertising the change for well over a year and had sent at least two emails to every single user

They are migrating all users and once an account has been migrated there is no going back.  The migration can take 2-4 days after which time your data should return.  If it does not Unless you made the back up that Microsoft recommended when you signed up for the email address, the data is gone because, like you, the online servers are not backed up

The question that everyone should be asking is WHY some of us were converted to outlook without our consent/knowledge.  How do you decide who stays in the old interface and who goes to the new interface?

I was forced to use the new interface like everyone else here.  I was just on it for 5 mins and already found numerous issues.  One major issue is that I am having trouble creating rules.  It is very sluggish in responding and many times it has issues loading the options.  I am missing some folders and one of my other email address that I had previous set to forward emails from.
