A few days ago my Hotmail e-mail account suddenly switch to the "Outlook" mail & layout (where the little blue line fills in across the screen under the "Outlook" icon....) I hate it! Why did it change & HOW CAN I SWITCH BACK TO THE OLD HOTMAIL FORMAT I WAS COMFORTABLE WITH ALL THESE YEARS???

Why is it not possible to revert to old working Hotmail/outlook when the new one sucks big time!! Why do microsoft make negative "improvements".....

This is laughable, it's not cookies.

The problem is with the new format, the fact it's trying to load all of the messages (or huge chunks at once) and multiple background items Miscrosoft is trying to force run thats bogging down the webpages.

If you scriptblock a couple of the forced items it will function and be more responsive, but the layout, design and operation is still terrible compared to the previous Hotmail/Outlook layout.

Not the OP, but have spent hours on the phone with various levels of Microsoft support...

Basically on multiple browsers (IE 11, Firefox, Chrome) and multiple platforms (Android, IOS iPad) it is completely broken.

I've had a Hotmail account for 20 +/- years so have thousands upon thousands of emails and it would seem like the new web interface is trying to load them all. IOS 9.2 and 9.3x crashes on the iPad when I even try to open Hotmail.com..

This rollout was clearly poorly planned and insufficiently tested.

The only way(s) I have gotten to even partially functions:

-IOS iPhone 9.3... It seems to load only a handful of messages at a time, so is functional.

-Chrome with Scriptblocker on. If I forbid "Onerm-staging-azurewebsites.net" and "swx.cdn.skype.com" it's still a horrifically bad layout, but atleast it's responsive and I'm not looking at 5 - 20 second delays when I try to access or send emails.

I've stuck with Microsoft and Hotmail for years, but the new design may finally be the the push to transition to a different email for real purposes and leave Hotmail to collect spam. You can no longer select all junk mail (so you can then just deselect any you may want to save). If you select all, you can only capture those showing on your screen. And the new design shows many fewer emails on my main screen, so that would be laborious. Maybe I need to now spend time messing with settings to fix this, but the nature of the switch makes me think it's just not worth my time anymore.

Note: Once the account is upgraded there is no way it can go back to older interface.
