A few days ago my Hotmail e-mail account suddenly switch to the "Outlook" mail & layout (where the little blue line fills in across the screen under the "Outlook" icon....) I hate it! Why did it change & HOW CAN I SWITCH BACK TO THE OLD HOTMAIL FORMAT I WAS COMFORTABLE WITH ALL THESE YEARS???

Yeah, I want the old version back. The new version super sucks. It's split my Inbox into two folders. Stupid idea. Now I have to scroll through two folders of emails and because of this change. How is that efficient or convenient for users?

To turn of Focused Inbox click on the Filter menu in the upper right of you mail list and uncheck Show Focused Inbox.

The problems with the new forced outlook version are just getting worse.....Now i can not even scroll so there are no way I can read my hole email! that goes for both Sarafi and Crome...I can not use the arrows or the scroll bar.

    I am using mac

Why are Microsoft using resources to make so many problems for their users? The old version was working fine. The new is a disaster, with absolutely no benefits, just huge disadvantages, making me think twice to ever buy a Microsoft product again

I totally agree, my PC with Windows 8.1 did a massive update after upgrading to Windows 10 and nearly every day there's a new problem to fix. The Outlook account started to do strange things and I think it started when Windows 10 installed their Mail app which I didn't want.

    Hey!

I had the same problem as well, but fear not, there is a solution to this problem.

    Here's how:

    1. click on the gear button (it's on the top of the page, in between the bell shape and the question mark)
    2. Once there, select the options button.
    3. In that options section, there is an option to choose how you would like to see the layout of outlook.
    4. On the very far right, there is a subsection, under mail, called layout. You would want to look under that.
    5. On the VERY bottom of said layout subsection, there is a section called reading pane. Click into that.
    6. Select the "hide reading pane," as well as the "return to view," and "type in a new window"
    7. Click save, and return to inbox.

    It should be done!! :)

    Hope this helps!!

FYI: The photo below shows where step 5 is located. Took some scouting, but hey, this photo should be a somewhat helpful guide. :DD
