New Outlook.com (Hotmail) sign-in page : Autofill/Autocomplete not working?

Today a new style of sign-in page appeared for Outlook.com (Hotmail) — and autofill/autocomplete doesn't work for the e-mail address field!

I have several e-mail addresses, and until now I've only needed to enter the first letter to get the dropdown list. Now there's no dropdown list. I have to type the full e-mail address each time I sign in. As I often switch between accounts, and you have to sign out of one to be able to sign in to another, this loss of autofill is very frustrating and time-wasting.

It's not a browser-related problem: it happens in 3 different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE).

It's not computer-related: it happens on 3 different computers.

It happens only with the Outlook.com (Hotmail) sign-in. On other websites, autofill still works for e-mail address fields.

I can only assume that Microsoft's developers have blocked autofill/autocomplete on this new sign-in page. If this is a deliberate choice, then why? It's extremely annoying and time-wasting. If it's just a mistake, I hope that MS will correct it very quickly.

Has anyone else discovered the problem?  Does anyone have a solution or a workaround?

    Cherche,

I did put a link into my last post, but moderator  ZigZag3143 (Windows IT Pro MS -MVP)    removed it. It was a link to a Microsoft Account support page (not UserVoice).

ZigZag3143 ... if you are going to remove a link, please have the professionalism to say why you did that!!!!!

In any case ... here is the URL of the site (just copy and paste it into your browser):

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/getsupport?oaspworkflow=start\_1.0.0.0&wfname=capsub&productkey=wolmain&locale=en-us&selectedproduct=Windows+Live+ID&selectedissue=I+am+having+trouble+signing+in&Service%3a=General+Issue&wa=wsignin1.0&ccsid=635959073107306971

If the above link gets removed again, here is how you can find it ...

    1. Go to this page:  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/id-support
    2. Click on "I am having trouble signing in"
    3. A page will open where you can describe the problem signing in (i.e., auto-complete not working).
    4. Click the Submit button.

You will get email with a case number and a link to the statu of your problem.

I found this site where I reported the bug in the new Microsoft Account sign on page that results in auto-complete not working when entering ones ID.

Others, who are also having this problem, may want to report it at the above-mentioned site.

    Hi langware,

Did you mean you've found another site? Or were you referring to the UserVoice site?

If it's a different one, I can't see any mention of it in your post.

    Moderators:  please escalate this problem.

I'll add my voice to that plea.

More than 48 hours since I posted this problem in the Outlook.com 'User Voice'/'Suggestion Box', and it's still marked "Awaiting moderator approval", so it's still not visible to anyone but me.
