Changing display name in Outlook.com

Hi! 

Originally this account was under a different name which I have changed. But it does not appear when people email me. How do I change this name???

  1. How do you access Outlook.com?
  2. Do you use Internet Explorer to access Outlook.com or any mail app?

3.When you say "it does not appear when people email me" are you facing issue from your end or the people who are sending emails to you?

Meanwhile, If you want to change the profile name for Outlook.com, please follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to http://profile.live.com/ .
  2. Click on edit and save it.

Once you update the profile name correctly, Outlook.com will appear the correct name display.

Hi There,

I was having the same issue with my connected gmail account but I managed to solve it.

  1. Go to outlook.com
  2. Go to settings on the top right hand corner.
  3. Go to Accounts -> Connected Accounts
  4. Click on Gmail address and click edit, you can then change your display name there.

    Hi,

    I have the same issue.  I've updated my profile name and my name change shows there, but that takes me out of the Mail tab - when I click back in it, my old name is on the top right (no option to edit this other than changing profile name which I've already done and saved), and when I test emails it still sends showing my old name as the Sent From signature.

    Started doing this over an hour ago and still no update in this.

     I'm using Chrome to log in to my Microsoft/Outlook email.

    this doesn't work.

    changed my name in outlook, but mail I send still has the old name.
