outlook.live.com Sent mails not saved in Sent items

Hi ...I have my 3rd party mail account configured to my outlook.live.com . The mails have been synced and so did the folders(including sent items) , however whenever i try to send mails from outlook.live.com ,using the account which i configured , the mails are sent without any issues but the mails are not saved in the sent items of my outlook.live.com.  I then checked the mail settings of my 3rd party provider and they do have the settings set properly for saving all the messages to sent items."Copy Email Messages to Sent Items When Sending Mail:" - is set to always. Appreciate any inputs to fix this problem.

Thanks

The way I see it, if you have a connected account configured to use POP (or IMAP, for that matter), then your outgoing mail isn't using Outlook.com's SMTP server to send the message. It's using the connected account's SMTP server, which means the Sent folder on that remote service should have a copy of the outgoing message. Your Outlook.com mailbox won't even see the outgoing message and, hence, won't have a copy in the Outlook.com Sent folder.

I've had the same issue since being "upgraded" to the "new improved" outlook.live.com in September 2016 - no emails going into sent items.  Also, try to open attachments just gives an error message so have to go direct to the connected account (yahoo) to retrieve any attachments.

yesterday, incoming mail stopped working, outlook reporting can't connect to the 3rd party mail server, although there was actually nothing wrong with it - I could connect ok directly.

Today incoming mail working again. BUT I deleted loads of unwanted rubbish from the inbox.  5 minutes later, same emails all appeared again in inbox.  I deleted them again.  5 minutes later etc etc etc.

What is going on?  So, I have nothing in sent items, whereas I have hundreds of unwanted rubbish in inbox that I can't get rid of.

Why can't Microsoft either fix these problems, or at least revert to previous version which worked fine.

Well, I hoped online Outlook will solve my problem with several e-mail accounts, especially hideous ads and bad GUI in the main one's webmail... Instead I'm here adding my voice to all the others. I sent several emails before noticing that none of them was saved - not in sent items in Outlook, not in the connected account (IMAP), so I have no record of those. Additionally, deleting emails did not delete them in the connected account and I had cases of them appearing again. Not to mention having to change the display name manually after I noticed that my emails are sent as outlook_someguidstuff, even though I specified the display name when adding the account.

So that was half a day wasted. Great work. I may come back someday, I may not.

Seriously, Microsoft apparently think that a free application doesn't need to be well made. My company blocked mobile Outlook because it's buggy and insecure, so people use different apps to connect to Exchange accounts from their mobiles... The company that makes a industry standard mail server and programs.

so, is there any way we will ever see sent items????
