outlook.live.com Sent mails not saved in Sent items

Hi ...I have my 3rd party mail account configured to my outlook.live.com . The mails have been synced and so did the folders(including sent items) , however whenever i try to send mails from outlook.live.com ,using the account which i configured , the mails are sent without any issues but the mails are not saved in the sent items of my outlook.live.com.  I then checked the mail settings of my 3rd party provider and they do have the settings set properly for saving all the messages to sent items."Copy Email Messages to Sent Items When Sending Mail:" - is set to always. Appreciate any inputs to fix this problem.

Thanks

The way I see it, if you have a connected account configured to use POP (or IMAP, for that matter), then your outgoing mail isn't using Outlook.com's SMTP server to send the message. It's using the connected account's SMTP server, which means the Sent folder on that remote service should have a copy of the outgoing message. Your Outlook.com mailbox won't even see the outgoing message and, hence, won't have a copy in the Outlook.com Sent folder.

I have the same issue and also another bug, always related to connected accounts.

I created a MS account with my business email (I needed it for Azure).

Then, while logged in with that account, I went to outlook.com and connected my mail account via IMAP/SMTP

It works but I have the issue of the sent mail not saved, plus another one: the mail is correctly sent via SMTP (the server IP is my mailserver), BUT the From header is something like this:

    From: "outlook_[random numbers][at]outlook.com" <[myname][at][mydomain].[com]>

So the "Display name" settings under "connected account" is ignored, and this causes the mail

to sometimes be marked as spam (for example by Microsoft Smartscreen).

I tried to change the "From address" option, but nothing changed...

You said you created an "MS account" with your business name, then logged into your Outlook.com address (another MS account) and created a connected account in the second's options to access the first. Is that correct?

I would imagine your business address already uses a mail server somewhere. Why didn't you just connect to that mailbox using your Outlook.com account? Better yet, why connect the two at all? And why create a newer MS account using a non-MS domain? It is this that causes your send address to look as you describe.

    > then logged into your Outlook.com address (another MS account)

No, I went to outlook.com and logged in with the same MS account (with a non-ms email)

Anyway I think I'll delete this account because we may switch to office 365 on this domain, and I see there are issues if there is another MS account with the same email:
