outlook.live.com Sent mails not saved in Sent items

This isn't a surprise. If you're using a linked account to send the messages, they should wind up in the Sent folder in the remote mailbox (depending on the remote server's behavior), not in Outlook.com's Sent Items folder.

Hi ...I have my 3rd party mail account configured to my outlook.live.com . The mails have been synced and so did the folders(including sent items) , however whenever i try to send mails from outlook.live.com ,using the account which i configured , the mails are sent without any issues but the mails are not saved in the sent items of my outlook.live.com.  I then checked the mail settings of my 3rd party provider and they do have the settings set properly for saving all the messages to sent items."Copy Email Messages to Sent Items When Sending Mail:" - is set to always. Appreciate any inputs to fix this problem.

May have stumbled onto something regarding this "Sent Item" file issue.  When I recently first set up my Outlook.com account, my "From" address was defaulted to the new Outlook email address.  Sent emails were being added to the Sent Items file at that point in time.  I later changed it to my linked account address and they stopped being saved.  Just changed it back and a test email was sent and it was saved in the Sent Item file.

How I changed back to the defaulted From address:

Click icon the Settings gear icon in the upper right of your email page.

Click on the last pull down item "Options"

Under Mail (left hand colum); Click on Accounts / Connected Accounts

Scroll down to "From address"

   If your utlook.com address is not shown here, click on the "Change your From address" link to make it so.

POP and IMAP settings given by my connected email clients,  are both for port 465 for sent mail  but the default in Outlook for my connected accounts remains on 587 , which refuses to change,  But this can't be the issue.

I have just done a test with a gmail account I have connected to Outlook and it also displays 587 as the send port however any mail I send using gmail via Outlook does go to my Sent folder. As I never use my gmail address to send mail I had not been aware that this one was working. But my ISP account (connected to Outlook) - which I want to display when I send mail, refuses to turn up as Sent. Today, unlike yesterday, the mail is actually leaving. I will just have to use the accounts separately. Because I have been saving so much in the past to my Outlook folders it appears my only solution is that I will have to log into the website for the connected account I wish to have displayed on my mail.
