outlook.live.com Sent mails not saved in Sent items

Hi ...I have my 3rd party mail account configured to my outlook.live.com . The mails have been synced and so did the folders(including sent items) , however whenever i try to send mails from outlook.live.com ,using the account which i configured , the mails are sent without any issues but the mails are not saved in the sent items of my outlook.live.com.  I then checked the mail settings of my 3rd party provider and they do have the settings set properly for saving all the messages to sent items."Copy Email Messages to Sent Items When Sending Mail:" - is set to always. Appreciate any inputs to fix this problem.

Thanks

The way I see it, if you have a connected account configured to use POP (or IMAP, for that matter), then your outgoing mail isn't using Outlook.com's SMTP server to send the message. It's using the connected account's SMTP server, which means the Sent folder on that remote service should have a copy of the outgoing message. Your Outlook.com mailbox won't even see the outgoing message and, hence, won't have a copy in the Outlook.com Sent folder.

If you like to use POP-settings, it possibly could be an option to add a new account with something like we454ertret-at-fkkyowerjh.com as your email address (or whatever, make sure it is something that doesn't exist and couldn't be detected automatically by Outlook.com).

Then, because Outlook.com can't recognize this address, it will offer you to add your account manually. When you do so, you get the option to use POP settings instead of just IMAP settings.

I added my third party accounts this way (by using POP settings) and my sent items are left in Outlook.com's sent folder as usual. While they were not using IMAP settings.

Good luck, hopefully it will work for you as well.

This does NOT work as it is described. There is still no "sent message" in my sent folder on the outlook.com account, not on the alias n**********@earthlink.net account.  Further, I really do not want in on the earthlink.net account. If I did, why would I continue to use Outlook?  I'd just use EarthLink.  Though if this isn't fix, I'll sell my Microsoft stock, and use gmail.  :-)

I am using (not optional) the new release of Outlook.com that has no drop downs, etc., and no option to alter the POP setting for earthlink. just the IMAP.

    Hi Loriena,

This works to have emails sent show in the sent folder in Outlook, correct, but it doesn't not work to have that same email show in the account sent box.

What I mean is, with my connected account  ******@Yahoo.com.... When I send an email from outlook.com, the email should also be showing in the yahoo.com SENT box.

    It does not.

    Roberto
