Outlook app on Android - "An Error Occurred" when trying to setup my account

Hello all,

Would appreciate your thoughts on the following situation:

I just installed the Outlook App on my Galaxy S5 phone (Android 6).

When I start it, I get prompted for an email address so I enter my work email (Office 365) and after a few seconds it looks like something comes up and then get dumped back to the "Get Started" screen with the most helpful error message in human history:

"An Error Occurred"

Wow! Where to begin?

I cannot make it past this screen to access any settings or options of any kind.

Guess what - the OWA app for Android works fine, but it doesn't have WEAR capability unlike the Outlook app.

Any suggestions/assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Pete

I am in the same boat.  The generic email app allows me to access my work account, but any attempt to run my work account through a Microsoft app (Onedrive, Office, Outlook) gets me the error occurred message.  I can open my Hotmail account through the app, but not my work.  I even did a whole phone reboot, and tried installing the app first thing....still no success.

Before I exchanged in my old phone (S7 Edge), that had my work email functioning through the Outlook app...I deleted the app and tried to reinstall it on my S7 Edge.  Got the same error message I am receiving on my new S9+.

Also, I have 2 coworkers who purchased the S9 and S9+ a month prior to me, and have no problems accessing the outlook app and their email.

    Frustrated.

Remove your credentials from Authenticator App and try again.  This was the solution for me. Solved ;-)

    Thank you!

    Worked for me.

I am having a similar issue. I have a samsung Galaxy Note 8 with Outlook for android installed. I have connected/added other accounts to outlook (google, dropbox, icloud) with no problems. However, when i try to add my onedrive account (using the add a storage account option) i can get all the way through the sign in but in the end i just end up back at the sign in screen and my onedrive account isnt added. I have tried the things mentioned on here already and checking the admin apps permissions and uninstalling Microsoft authenticator but still have no success. Thanks for the help!
