Outlook email "groups" have suddenly disappeared; contacts still there but no groups.

All of my outlook email "groups" have disappeared. My "contacts" are all still there, but the "groups" I created are missing.

I see a number of others are having similar issues but no one from outlook has provided an answer, they keep asking the same questions: 1. Tell us how you check your email, 2. Have you made in recent changes.

After the recipients respond, they never hear back from the moderators again.

I use my email "groups" nearly ever day. However, when I woke up this morning, I found all my "groups" had disappeared from my account.

I use Windows 8.1; I check mail thru outlook.com via Chrome.  It is the same with Internet explorer.   It is also the same using the outlook app on my Android tablet.

I'm looking at opera but I think I may return to mozilla thunderbird, one thing is for sure I've had it to the back teeth with MS.

I just wrote a long more sensible reply and it disappeared, my fault I think though. I will try again later. Thanks for trying to help.

I have no idea if this is helpful or not, so I suppose not. Did Trump have anything to do with all this?

Further to my post of 17 Feb 2017, I have just remembered that in recent weeks, people who use their outlook.com email from within Office Outlook (recent versions) did receive a message requiring them to remove that account from Office Outlook and reinsert it. Don't worry - you don't lose anything because it's all in "the cloud", but having done this myself in the past when I had problems of one kind or other, it definitely dealt with the problems, as also, on one occasion, did doing a "repair" on Office 2016. Basically, MS have worked to improve integration, and the improvements only take effect when the account is reconnected.

On another (still related) note, my previously trusty Windows 10 phone died on me, and I have been forced to use an Android phone. Not to worry! MS have obviously put a lot of work into their Outlook app for Android, which works very well. The only limitation

    • last time I tried this - was that new contacts added in the Outlook app on the phone don't sync back to the cloud (and therefore to outlook.com and Office Outlook on my PC). Calendar appointments and emails sync both ways. Wish they could fix this. Maybe they already have?

Ref: Losing contact lists and outlook not accepting email address amendment.

I entered the url above and my personal email (old hotmail now outlook)  opened as usual but the url is https://outlook.live.com/owa/ . I then logged out entered the url again and logged into my group email and this is the address https://outlook.live.com/owa/?realm=live.com

The url is https://outlook.live.com/owa/?path=/mail/inbox/rp title is OUTLOOK MAIL

Does any of this mean anything useful?
