First of all let me say that I realized I wasn't not going to get any help here a long time ago. That's why I was quiet for such a long time, but simply had to reply to Meadowbrook47's drilled bull... about "the new and improved" Outlook.com. In short, in my first comment from January 17 I was was referring to his comment. I thought I made that very clear by quoting him...

In my second comment, I was "referring" to you praising MICR$OFT costume "care", which also isn't directly linked to Outlook.com directly, otherwise why would you refer to Windows 8? Just like you referred to Windows 8, I referred to other M$ products, including Windows Live Mail ...and yes, even Outlook.com.

The **** they do.

I'm one of many who don't like the "improved" Outlook.com. That is, think that Live Hotmail was way better. To be honest, I think Outlook.com is still the best webmail when you go through all the pros and cons, but Live Hotmail was just way better, end of story (you didn't prove wrong any of my complaints, did you?). Just go through the comments of this topic. True, many people might like Outlook.com very much, might even be in love with it, but if MICRO$OFT cared about their costumers so much, there would at least be an option of using both Outlook.com and Live Hotmail.

I mentioned emoticons, so why not stick to them a while longer? A lot of people complained that classic MSN emoticons had been better than the newly introduced. What did MICRO$OFT do? They made emoticons in Outlook.com even worse!

I mentioned MSN, so why not mention Windows Live Messenger now? Along with the new emoticons, people were furious when MICRO$OFT removed nicknames and introduced the mandatory use of full names (for Internet chatting!). And how did MICRO$OFT satisfy their costumers? By discontinuing Windows Live Messenger in favour of newly acquired Skype, which lac ks a lot of shiny WLM features, like personal emoticons or music status, features that were greatly advertised as new MSN/WLM features as they were introduced into the messenger.

Speaking of WLM, there's Windows Live Mail, which had a bug for over an year that would crush the program as soon as you select a Facebook email. Just search the topics on this forum and you'll find it (unless, MICRO$OFT "cares" about the freedom of speech too ;) ). Despite all the complaints, it took them over a yea r to fix the issue. The program hasn't been updated for several years, because "caring" MICRO$OFT wants us to switch to Windows Mail, which is an integral part of Windows 10, of course. Well, I don't like bloody Windows Mail! Frankly, I would prefer if WLM would recognize Unicode in To and From fields (another old issue, but this one hasn't been fixed and how could it since there haven't been any updates!). But since Outlook.com supports "HTML", which is "strangely" supported only by MICRO$OFT e-mail clients, instead of IMAP, which is supported by all the e-mail clients; I'm stuck with WLM, which I find better than other M$ e-mail clients.

I know this is a MICRO$OFT forum, that I'm supposed to lick their boot and all, but frankly MICRO$OFT cares only about profit. You might have noticed that all the issues I listed in this reply concern free programs. Skype is a good example. Soon after M$ acquired Skype, Skype Pro, Premium or whatever appeared and there hasn't been a decent update for Skype for Linux (open source OS) since the acquisition. HTML for Outlook.com is another good example. As I said, it's pretty much the same **** as IMAP, but works only on M$ clients forcing Outlook.com users use M$ clients if they want to use the benefits of e-mail clients. And don't start with POP3 because POP3 is limited and you know it!

As for Windows 10 and Windows 8. They only did the change to keep the customers - in other words to prevent the loss of profit. Otherwise, they wouldn't go with Windows 8 in the first place because people's reactions were negative even before the release. However, when they realized that they would actually start losing costumers - in other words, gain financial loss and maybe even face bankruptcy in time - they decided to fix things with Windows 10.

I wholeheartedly agree with Meadowbrook47's take on Microsoft's interest in customer satisfaction.  The pinhead at Microsoft care about what THEY want to do.  Take, for instance, Windows 8 and the much-maligned Windows 10....
