Sync Outlook 365 (email, contacts, calendar and notes) with android phone

No other post I have ever put on a forum has been responded to so I have been searching for almost a year and have since purchased a Galaxy S4 because I was told Apple and Microsoft 365 don't play well together.......................

Outlook 2013 includes built-in support for Exchange ActiveSync, which means you don’t need a special connector add-in to connect to Outlook.com (formerly Hotmail). Also, if you use Tasks to plan every detail of your life, now you can sync Outlook.com Tasks with Outlook to put all those plans together.

So, my thinking was that if I can sync my Outlook 365 with Outlook.com I would be able to access everything I need on my phone and computer so they are the same.

If this is not the case perhaps you can direct me to where I can get help instead of providing me with attitude.

#1 - Re: not ever getting a reply - reviewing your history, you posted a message on 8/23/2013 and got a response from <Gary Phantom> on 8/27/2013 to which you never posted a follow-up. Aside from that thread, you posted one other time (1/3/2014) related to syncing with your "cloud" account - to which a response was provided by <John Paul M> on 1/11/2014 so a little confused by your comment "No other post I have ever put on a forum has been responded to......................." which only serves to inaccurately represent the facts to others who may read this post and not take the time to confirm whether or not the statement is in fact correct.

#2 - You now have a Droid phone - see item#2 in my response. Outlook has nothing to do with the sync process with different devices. You question is about sync'ing with an Outlook.com email account - not Outlook - 2 entirely different things. Both of those issues were addressed in my previous response.

#3 - The quotation you included regarding Outlook.com / Outlook and EAS is completely accurate and valid which it most certainly does. Equally, your comment "So, my thinking was that if I can sync my Outlook 365 with Outlook.com I would be able to access everything I need on my phone and computer so they are the same" is also accurate - providing you have the appropriate tools on your devices (Outlook does not run on Droid). At a minimum, if you wish to pursue the question as to how to configure your Outlook.com account on your Droid device in these forums - you should post the question in the appropriate forum for Outlook.com (as was already included in my previous response).

The sync process with your Droid device depends on the sync software in use. I've already provided one option. Whether you choose to pursue that is entirely up to you otherwise youe alternative is to determine what sync software works with your device so the starting point would be with the provider of your device (I don't own a Samsung Galaxy but would be surprised if no Sync software options were not included when you purchased the device)

That is why I was so upset by your direction. And, if I am in the wrong forum it's because I have to keep looking answers and am extremely frustrating by the lack of assistance. So, thank you for your response which I found the tone to be quite snarky, condescending and borderline nasty.

The reason I, and I'm going to assume many others (as seen from many other posts I've read), are trying to get Outlook.com and Outlook 365 to sync is because when we purchased the product we are led to believe this. Through a lot of research, trail and error, etc and am at a place were I have 90% of what I want.  There are some things not working as I would like, but I can live with it and will continue to try to improve my set-up.  These are the steps I took to get my Win7 laptop, Outlook.com and Android phone in sync.

1. Create Outlook.com account / outlook email address and make the primary.
2. Add all other email accounts to this as "Send Only" accounts.
3. Forward emails from other accounts to the Outlook.com account.  I forwarded my gmail and a work email account to the Outlook.com account.
4. Download Hotmail connector on PC.
5. Backup the pst file being used in Outlook 2010.
6. Create imap account in Outlook 2010 or older using Hotmail Connector.
7. Copy email folders from pst file to the Hotmail Connector (ost) account.  This may take days to fully upload to the Outlook.com account.
8. Back up the pst file.  This is just in case something goes wrong.
9. Start subscription to Outlook 365 Home.
10. Create EAS account in Outlook 365/2013 with Outlook.com email address.  This account will use an ost file.
11. Open pst file from Outlook 2010 in 2013 to establish that account(s).
12. You should not need Outlook 2010 anymore.
13. Within Outlook 2013, copy contacts from pst account to new ost account.  Use list view so you can shift select everything at once.
14. Move calendar items from pst account to new ost account.  I did not have success coping, so I moved them.  Again, use list view so you can shift select everything at once.
15. Copy or move tasks from pst file to new ost account.
16. Notes cannot be done, however I moved all of them to OneNote.
17. Leave other email accounts in Outlook (gmail, work) but in Send/Receive Groups / Define Send Receive Groups / Edit uncheck "Receive mails items".  (The Outlook.com account will push all mail to the outlook account within Outlook 2013).
18. Download Outlook.com app from app store on Android phone and log into your Outlook account with your outlook.com email address.

I found your response lacking in everything. This was not a solution to this person's problem... or many of the people in the forums I've visited trying to find a way to get Outlook 365 to not just sync with my phone but my Outlook.com.        

#1 - Suggestion was intended to be something that works with Android phones

#2 - First step in resolving a problem is understanding the components. Outlook (the desktop client) in and of itself, plays no role (and never has) in any sync process between different devices. The sync function between devices and Outlook (the desktop client) is and has always been handled by 3rd party programs generally provided by the device manufacturer

#3 - Outlook.com and Outlook (the desktop client) are two entirely different things - one is an email account type (MAPI in O'2010 and earlier using the Hotmail Outlook Connector - EAS <Exchange ActiveSync> in O'2013 with no requirement for the connector). An Outlook.com account can also be configured as a POP or Imap account in any version of Outlook

#4 - Office '365 Home Premium ($99/yr) provides you an annual license for all the desktop applications - a totally different animal to web-based Google apps

#5 - "You read that Outlook 365 doesn't even sync well with a Windows phone" - well, my Windows phone syncs just fine with Outlook.com for what I need it to do but that has nothing to do with Outlook (the desktop client) which would sync with the Outlook.com account via EAS

So if your complaint is that you can't sync all your devices to a single Outlook.com account - then te questions need to be dealt with in the forum that is specific for Outlook.com under the appropriate Topic/Sub-Topic

With all due respect, just doing a quick review of your two other posts in different threads - very short on any details especially since this thread relates to Android whereas your other thread refers to iCloud. To recap, you don't need Office 365 to sync multiple devices for the reasons already noted especially since if you are using an iPhone - that sync process is handled by Apple's software - not part of Outlook.
