Cannot login to Outlook due to error "Something went wrong.."

Original title: Outlook LIVE (outlook.com) "Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later".

I have a custom domain running Outlook LIVE through outlook.com.  I've had an old passport account which has been with me for a long time but didn't used to have email associated with it.  I recently updated it to have email enabled, but I'm not able to login to outlook live with that account.

How can I get around the "Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later" error, or determine what the problem is?  I waited about a month but I'm still having the same problem.  I would really like to get email onto this account since it's the account I have all of my other things (xbox, phone, win8) pointed to.

Thanks

Ok, so I had the same issue. It was on Chrome browser. I could log in using incognito (private browsing), but not the standard windows. My friend could however log into his account without having the same issues.

Here's what I did, I had to turn off, "Continue where you left off" and it worked. Maybe the same might work for other browsers too.

So, it might not work for others, but it worked for me :)

    Hope this helps

I had the same problem for months. What worked for me was to go to Internet option-Click security tab-click on trusted sites ,a box will open just below says site-click site box-in the list that pops up delete anything that refers to email. some are mail.live.com

    • login live.com-blu173.mail.live.com. etc.

    Hope this works for you
