Cannot login to Outlook due to error "Something went wrong.."

Original title: Outlook LIVE (outlook.com) "Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later".

I have a custom domain running Outlook LIVE through outlook.com.  I've had an old passport account which has been with me for a long time but didn't used to have email associated with it.  I recently updated it to have email enabled, but I'm not able to login to outlook live with that account.

How can I get around the "Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later" error, or determine what the problem is?  I waited about a month but I'm still having the same problem.  I would really like to get email onto this account since it's the account I have all of my other things (xbox, phone, win8) pointed to.

Thanks

    Hello,

I'm still getting the same error.

I don't have access to my inbox.

Use Mozilla Foxfire and you'll be able to access your email...that's the only thing that worked for me.

    (sigh)

If it's the same problem as I have had, then the answers are in this thread in several places.

This has been going on since March (for me, longer for others) with no change at all, just more of the same questions from the Microsoft, then answers from the users (victims), then no action.

I have given up and will no longer use my Outlook email. I will also unsubscribe from this thread.
