Organizing and accessing contact information in Outlook.com
I can't even find the delete command. where is it?
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I called Microsoft's 800 number for technical support and they say that the only support is Microsoft Community.
The Microsoft representative says that this is the only forum or place to get help. Are there any Microsoft employees who can help me with my Hotmail/Outlook.com issue?
I am not able to delete contacts from my Hotmail/Outlook.com account. (And, yes, I have cleared my cache, I've got the latest browser versions, the issue is the same on multiple computers with various browsers.)
Can ANYONE help me???????
(Original title: hotmail/outlook.com won't let me delete contacts, what do I do?)

yeah i agree windows live accounts are the worst. n microsoft support is even more stupid.
you want to delete contacts from windows outlook.com/ people? it can be done.
go to manage accounts from edit profile.
remove the **** link of facebook and windows live accounts, this will stop imports from facebook contacts going into your windows live email or whatever. and windows live the bastards, those contacts going into your facebook account. seriously microsoft you have lost the plot on everything.
this will take a few minutes to refresh, dont know if the effect changes who you see in your phone, if you have a windows live phone, quite possibly the contacts will remain there, who knows. its **** windows!
now go back to people, select whoever you want to purge from your contacts for good. and delete.
The issue is NOT with Outlook.
The problem is CONTACTS/PEOPLE. It isn't operating correctly. Mail and calendar are FINE.
CONTACTS/PEOPLE is a hosed up mess. It is an abomination. And not one seems to know why. This is a ridiculous waste of time.
Microsoft should be terribly embarrassed. But, from the reaction on "Community" (or should I say "the lack of reaction"), they just don't care.
There are SO MANY people with problems, I don't know how they can ignore the issues with "CONTACTS/PEOPLE".
Oh, one last thing, I DID attempt to call Microsoft support..... I actually SPOKE with them...... they told me that "COMMUNITY" is the ONLY support. Sigh.
Same problem for me. Is there anyone to contact to find out how to delete what was
an old e-mail contact when I had hotmail and not outlook. Thinking about deleting m'soft and
going in another direction.
Hi siliconmatrix,
We're sorry for the inconvenience.
Since you have already tried deleting your contacts via web, did you ever get to try performing the said activity via a mail client?
Does the issue happen to any contacts that you want to delete?
Have you made any changes on your account prior to the issue?
Thanks!
Outlook.com connects to Outlook via the Outlook Hotmail Connector. Therefor the contacts ARE linked to Outlook. You missed that is in your information that you took from datamation.
So, you CAN delete from Outlook.com. By using the 'delete' command. But....as my question said, it doesn't work.
